Strawberry plant storage crate
In collaboration with the Dutch strawberry plant growers, Beekenkamp Verpakkingen B.V. has developed a new strawberry plant storage crate.
This plastic crate replaces the existing wooden crate, which results in enormous savings with regard to volume outside the storage season and considerable reduction in transport costs as far as return crates are concerned. Apart from the hygienic advantages, the new plastic crate has more perforations than the wooden one, which helps to cool plants more quickly resulting in better preservation and thus a more vital plant for growers to start with. The new crates will be available from July 2009.
