During the celebration of her 50th anniversary, An Beekenkamp, co-owner of the family business Beekenkamp Group, was appointed Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau. This special royal decoration was presented by Mayor B.R. Arends.
An Beekenkamp has been with Beekenkamp Group since 1974. The company consists of Beekenkamp Plants – Vegetables and Ornamental Crops, Deliflor Chrysanthemums and Beekenkamp Packaging. Since 2000 she has been co-owner of the company together with her sister Margriet. An is fully active within the family business, which is a leading global supplier of starting materials for vegetable, pot and bedding plants, packaging and chrysanthemums. She is very involved with the thousands of employees, customers and suppliers. In addition, An Beekenkamp is active as a volunteer with various (international) organizations such as Plantum, VNO-NCW Westland-Delfland and within the local community.
